Tarantula infected with cordyceps fungus. Cordyceps are a group of parasitic fungi containing over 400 described species. Their hosts are usually insects but they can also infect other fungi.

Black dogfish embryos. The black dogfish is a small deep dwelling shark with a short and heavily set body. This shark species occurs only in the Atlantic Ocean basin. This is a deep water shark occurring at depths of 275 to 1600 meters (975 to 5,280 feet). Average size for this shark is about 60 to 75 cm with a maximum size of 84 cm.
